Red Dates Huat Kueh for Lunar 12 Month (紅棗發糕迎臘月)

In here, you all will be seeing a type of very old traditional Steam-Red Dates-flour pastry known as Huat Kueh (傳統紅棗發糕). The Original form of the Huat Kueh that we see in the market now.

Till today, in the Northern China, Taoists & Chinese still prepare this type of Traditional Huat Kueh during Lunar 12 Month as offering dedicating to the Deities & Ancestors. Especially on the 8th Day of Lunar 12 Month aka La Ba Day (農曆臘月初八日臘八節) & 28/29 Day of Lunar 12 Month (農曆臘月廿八及廿九日), 2 days before ushering in the New Lunar Year.

For those who are interested in making this Traditional Huat Kueh, please do try it. The ingredients are really simple, you just need to get a packet of Flour or Bun-powder with all mixtures in it, add water and Red Dates. Once all the preparation is done, steam for 15-20 minutes and you will be able to get the Traditional Red Dates Huat Kueh ready for honouring.

Try it this year and may all of you be blessed with Prosperity in the upcoming Gui Si Snake Year (癸巳蛇年).
