  1. Shifu, when is Lord Wenchang's anniversary?

Also, if one cannot go to temple on Lord Tai Sui's day (Feb 4), when can one pay respect to Lord Tai Sui? Next year my zodiac (Dragon, 1988) is in conflict, I think. Apart from carrying Wu Di coins, what else can I do? Is there another auspicious date to pay respect to Tai Sui?

    Thank you Shifu!

  2. Wen Chang's Anniversary falls on the 3rd Day of Lunar 2 Month.

For other Deities that not being mentioned in the Calendar, you all can refer to the old posting on Deities Anniversary Banner.

Once after 4 of Feb, you all can proceed to Temples to pay respect to Lord Tai Sui of Ji Chou Year.

As for what other stuffs to do protection, I will post them in the new Article of Lord Tai Sui of 2009 soon, please keep a close lookout on that.

  5. Yes, Lord Tai Sui will only be changed on Li Chun Day.

Nowadays, alot of Temple tend to earn the Respect Money before New Year or during New Year, and so, they tend to claim that after DOng Zhi, ppl can pay respect to Lord Tai Sui of the New Year, which this is wrong.

In Chinese Custom, Spring will only enter into this Mortal Realm on Li Chun Day.

But why we celebration New Year on the 1st Day of Lunar 1 Month? Cos on this Day, the Natural Energy cycle will changed to a totally new 1 and so, in the Ancient Era, Tian Guan advise Emperors to set the ushering of New Year on the 1st Day no matter when is the Li Chun Day.

  6. Shifu, is clashing with Tai Sui really very bad? Also, if one cannot pray on Lichun Day or go to the Temple, what will happen? (If I'm being too stubborn, then please no need to reply, I'll just wait for your upcoming post on Tai Sui. Thank you once again!)

  7. Dont worry, it is not that bad as what is being mentioned in the books or the folks in Temple.

If on Li Chun, you are unable to make it, try to find another day in the 1st Lunar Month to pay respect.

If in the whole 30 days, you are not able to make it. Then in that whole year, try to avoid going to Temples with any Lord Tai Sui Altar.

  8. From logic thinking, other religion people do not pay respect to Lord Tai Sui, still Fine fine :D
And some people said, if you believe this then it will happen on you, if you don't believe in this then it will not happen on you.

  9. "If in the whole 30 days, you are not able to make it. Then in that whole year, try to avoid going to Temples with any Lord Tai Sui Altar." why is this so?

then how abt end of the year, when we need to thank tai sui. nowadays temple say must thank b4 dong zhi. but since the handing over to new taisui occurs only on li chun, so is it possible to thank before lichun and not before dong zhi?

  10. Usually the extension will last on 16th Day of Lunar 12 Month.

Why? Cos on 16th day of Lunar 12 Month, it is considered as the Thanksgiving Day for All Deities in Taoism.

So after this day, we the Chinese & Taoists will "give" the Deities a "short break" (in the past, people will be busy in preparation for Lunar New Year).

Only until the 24th Day, we will pay respect to Zao Jun, 25th Day, pay respect to Jade Emperor of Heaven and then on the Eve, usher in the Fu Lu Shou Deities.

Only until 4th Day, after Zao Jun returned from Heaven, the normal routine will start all over again.

This is why, we always advise ppl if you got no time to do it before Dong Zhi, no need to worry, the last date due is on the 16th Day of Lunar 12 Month.

  14. If oneself does not believe in the after-effect of honouring Lord Tai Sui even oneself is in conflict with Lord Tai Sui, then this honouring can be omitted.

If oneself is sincere and faithful, any Temples with Lord Tai Sui Altar will be okay, regardless of 1 or 60.
