Long Shan Men 180th Anniversary Celebration Event 06 – Finale - Dotting & Up-Raise the Altar (龍山門紮根南洋180年週慶項目六)

Few Days of Celebration and Events participation, on the 9th Day of Lunar 9 Month, Long Shan Men conducted the Final Dotting & Up-Raise of Altar before the 9 Month Celebration Officially Close for the Year.

In the Morning of the 9th Day, I arrived at the Altar Premises at about 7.00Am to do the necessary for the Raising of the Altar (昇座) & Dotting of the 2nd Batch of statues.

Actually for this Year or in this Period, I didn’t really want to do the Raising of Altar, but again, human prediction is always something that cannot compare with the prediction of Heaven and so, certain things occurred forcing me to Raise the Altar for the 3rd time.

After the Raising of the Altar, the Dotting Ceremony started. Firstly by doing a quick and brief report on the Event to the Heaven and the various associated Deities and last, called upon the Deities that we inviting for the Dotting Ceremony.

Once the reporting and invitation was done, the Enhancing of the Objects for Dotting was done too and then the Dotting of the statues started.

This time round, Hua Guang Ma Yuan Shuai (華光馬元帥), Tai Sui Xing Jun (太歲星君), Xuan Tian Shang Di (玄天上帝) and Zhang Tian Shi (張天師) were being dotted.

After the Dotting, the statues were being invited to Go Cross the Fire (set up on the Altar by using the Candles) and then placed them on the assigned Position according to their Rank and Task-holding-Authorities.

Upon placing them onto the assigned Position, the whole Raising of Altar and Dotting Ceremony mark an end and followed by was the Offering of Wine, Tea and other small Offerings for the newly added Deities.

From then, Long Shan Men’s Celebration for the 180th Anniversary of entering into Singapore mark an Officially End for Year 2008.

Next Year, we will try to do something bigger in-order for All other local Taoists to join in. Do keep a Look out on that.

Last of All, I will like to use this opportunity to thank those who had assist us in setting-up of the Altar and also those who had join in most of the Long Shan Men 180th Anniversary Events.

See you all next year.

  1. hi i thot 華光馬元帥hold a pyramid and not the spear (not sure wat it is called). people tend to mix the 法宝 二郎神 and 華光馬元帥 have respectively. and why is that u have two zhang tian shi statues in ur altar? ani special meaning? btw, very nice altar! 道气长存!

  2. Yup, in Main Stream Taoism, Hua Guang Ma Yuan Shuai does hold onto a Golden Pyramid, this object is to represent the Element of Fire and also Gold.

Whereas the Physical Weapon that he hold onto got 3:

    1 is Spear aka Qiang
2 is San Jian Liang Ren Dao
    3 is Firey Sword

Whereas the Main Stream Er Lang Shen hold onto a Sword.

The one that got a name of Yang Jian is a man-made character and so, the image is a mixture of these 2 Deities. Which is somehow no Correct or Accurate.

The small one is an "antique 1", used to do Protection for the Altar & Taoist Group, which soon I will be inviting back for my Home.

  3. Anyway, there will be more Deities coming in after 15th Day of Lunar 10 Month.

For the moment, only these few main Deities are being invited.

  4. so that means actually san jian liang ren dao is owe by hua guang da di instead of er lang shen which most statues portrayed?

  5. True.

To be more accurate, Er Lang Shen shall be holding to Sword, cos he is the Spirit of Water which assist the Realms to eliminate Water Demons.

  8. What's the purpose of planting the Brush used for Dotting, into the Urn?

    ReplyDelete
  9. and also why izzit that we need a mirror when we dot new statues??

    ReplyDelete
  10. So that we can use them at anytime :P

    ReplyDelete
  11. Mirror is an important object in Spiritual Culture, it is able to block off negative energies and also, to direct the positive energies to a certain destinated point.

  15. This Zhang Tian Shi Kimsin is nice. Btw Master Jave, can kindly enlighten me why some tianshi kimsin is in red colour face and some in black colour face, is there any meaning to it or does it represent something? Thanks

  16. Btw just a curious question, the mirror you used to kaiguang kimsin, you used only a mirror to "open" all kimsin or every kimsin every new mirror? Thanks

  17. Haha, can't we place the Brush aside instead?

    ReplyDelete
  18. Is this 五雷号令 made by "thunder strike wood 雷惊木"?

    ReplyDelete
  19. To be more accurate, Zhang Tian Shi does not have a Black or Red Face, just that, he is a bit Tanned on his complexion.

But in Religion-wise, Black or Red color can represent authorities and also, the Spiritual Will of a Deity or Marshals.

  20. One is enough. But for those Big Statues in Temples, then each individual Mirror will be needed.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Not an issue. As long as the brush is not being misplace or mis-use, if not, the after-effect cant be bad.

    ReplyDelete
  22. Mine is special and yet not too special.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Oh, I see.

    What are the after-effects like?

Btw, why are individual Mirrors needed for Big Statues?

    ReplyDelete
  24. Not possible to predict, only when oneself encounter then oneself will know what is the after-effect.

Put it simple, to gather more Positive Energy and not by sharing with the others.

  25. I thought that incense is burn in the urn and the candle do not need to put on a plate? Is this a practise?
