The Logo of Taoism - the Representative Colors of Taoism (道教教徽)

In the following is a Picture of the Logo of Taoism aka the Representative Colors of Taoism.

In Taoism, we will use the Basic 3 Colors to represent our Belief, Faith & also the Initiation of where we are from. The 3 Colors are:

1 Green (some said Blue)
2 Red
3 Yellow

With these 3 Colors, Taoists believed that the Whole Universe is being formed out from them.

And this is why, in some Paintings of San Qing (or Statues), you can see that San Qing are wearing the Robes of these 3 Colors.

  1. In my opinion, I believe that the Blue that people mentioned would be considered as 青 rather than 蓝.

  2. Hahaha, Yes, you are right.

In the Ancient Era, Green is usually known as Blue and Blue of cos, is Green.

Now, for us to know that Green, Blue & Red are the Primary Color. But in Chinese History and Records, All of us know that, actually Green is a Sub-color of Blue, without Blue, there wont be Green and so, during the Ancient Era, Chinese only know abt Blue and not Green.

  3. Which one is the correct sequence of those colors in a row?
    1. (like in 五方亨通) (left) blue/green, (middle) red, (right) yellow
    2. (left) yellow, (middle) blue/green, (right) red

    Thx in advance

  4. In 五方亨通 (Reviews section: requesting of blessing for wealth for new years) 5 colors are used in upper rows: green (left), red (middle), yellow (right), and in lower rows: white (left) and black (right). The 3 3 primary colors in Taoism are used here.

But in this article "The Logo of Taoism" it is shown other sequence - San Qing's robe colors: (left) yellow, (middle) green/blue, (right) red.

Therefore I want to know which sequence is correct.
