Ling Bao Tian Zun explains the Taoist Scripture on Taoist Feast Days End
This is a Taoist Scripture that being explained by Ling Bao Tian Zun (靈寶天尊) to the other Deities during one of the gatherings on the various Taoist Feast Dates & Days.
ReplyDeleteDuring the explanation, Ling Bao Tian Zun advised the Deities that, on the various Feast Dates & Days, one self (Mortal) must try to practice self disciplines such as staying Calm, Peace, Alert, etc – in Chinese known as Chi Zhai (持齋).
Chi Zhai (持齋), a lot of folks or Taoists tend to mistaken it as just go on vegetarian diet, which this is not true. A good cultivated person wont need to go on vegetarian diet to gain enlightenment, but by practicing self discipline to attain another higher level. The meaning of Chi Zhai is to practice self discipline – by clearing one self mind, maintaining the uprightness on one selfs physical body, etc. By doing so, it will be more effective & enhanced than just taking vegetables for the Day.
By doing so, it will be enhanced and add on the after effect on the chanting of Scriptures and performing of Rituals/Ceremonies on these Dates & Days.
For those who practice chanting, performing of Rituals/Ceremonies or doing copy-writing of any Scriptures on these Dates & Days, their luck will be blessed, passed & future debts & sins will be cleared and all negative forces that cling to one self will be removed.
By consistently & sincerely doing so, one self will be able to gain enlightenment and will be summoned back to the Heavenly Realm.

ReplyDeletePeople thought that Chi Zhai (持齋) is plainly going on a vegeterian diet is partly due to the mass misuse of word.
By right, going on a vegeterian diet should be known as Chi Su (吃素). The word Su (素) should be used.

Yes, in other Religion, unless that person made Vow to be a Lifetime Vegetarian, if not, they can only be classified as eating Su and not Zhai, from them, Zhao only mend for those people who take Vow to stay by the side of their Lord forever and eternally.
ReplyDeleteIn Taoism, we used Zhai, because we not looking into the physical eating action, but the SPiritual and inner action of one self.
Zhai can be explain as Clear, Pure and Putting-away in some contexts and so, by maintain the Upright Zhai in one self, it is much more "Powerful" and Upright than just by eating vegetables on the Day or the Period, etc.
I have ever seen one god above Three Pure Ones (red face one hand is holding moon and another hand is holding sun (chibnese letter), may I know who is the God ? What is his Title or name ?

That is known as Yuan Shi Tian Wang (元始天王).
ReplyDeleteIn Taoism, he is the main key deity that manifest the whole universe.
In some contexts, Lao Zi is also known as Yuan Shi Tian Wang.

Ang Kun Lao Tzu is another version of Yuan Shi Tian Wang in other contexts, esp in Feng Shen Bang, in Official Taoism, Ang Kun does not appear or being recognised.
ReplyDeleteIn our taoist belief, how is about the hierachy from Yuan Shi Tian Wang and the others ? Where are the position of Kwan Im Phu Sat, Maitreya Phu Sat and Buddha Sakyamuni and Amitabha ? Whre can I get the full and complete photo of them ? Your kind indormation will be highly appreciated.
