Chinese Addressing Terms for Deities Manifestation Anniversary or Birthday (誕辰稱號分類)

Recent years, due to the increasing of Celebrations of Temples & Sintuas and the lack of study on Chinese Culture and History, alot of the Folks tend to mis-use certain Terms or Totally using the Wrong Terms for the Celebration on Deities Manifestation Anniversary or Birthday, which causes quite a few laughing & mis-understanding issues.

In-order to assist such Folks to get the Terms correct and preventing any more distorting of our Chinese Culture, here I will do a quick and fast intro on the various different Chinese Terms for different Deities.

Here it goes:

Wan Shou (萬壽) aka Infinite Longevity - use for San Qing (三清道祖) or Jade Emperor of Heaven (玉皇大天尊)

Qian Qiu (千秋) aka Eternal Longevity - use for High Position Deities, such as Heavenly Emperors (天帝/帝君) such as Zi Wei Di Jun (紫微帝君) or Tian Huang Da Di (天皇大帝), Lord Tai Yi (太乙天尊), Lord Pu Hua (普化天尊), Lord Emperors such as Dong Yue Da Di (東嶽大帝), San Guan Da Di (三官大帝), etc

Hua Dan (華誕) or Hua Shou (華壽) aka Elegance Longevity - use on Lady Deities or Female Immortals (女仙), such as Wang Mu Niang Niang (王母娘娘) aka Mother Queen of the West, Dou Mu Yuan Jun (斗姆元君), Ma Zu (媽祖) etc

Shen Dan (聖誕) aka Immortality/Sage-hood Longevity - use on Masters (師), Immortals (仙), Priests (真人), Generals (天將), Marshals (天君元帥) or Offcers. Those Humans who got Enlightenment and then being bestowed with an Official Heavenly Titles, tsuch Deities will be able to use this Term, such as Guan Gong (關公), Yue Fei (岳飛), etc

Dan Chen (誕辰) or Shou Dan (壽誕) aka Manifestation Anniversary or Birthday - the common term that can be used on any Deities, but in some serious contexts, this term is usually only being used on Low-level Deities such as Deity of Earth (土地公), City Deity (城隍神) or Deities that are associated with Nether World or Waterly Realm (地界水界諸神).
