Introduction on Bing Ling Gong (炳靈公簡介)





Bing Ling Gong aka Dong Yue San Lang (東岳三郎) or Tai Shan San Lang (泰山三郎 The Third Prince of Mt Tai Shan).

And he was believed to be the third son of Dong Yue Da Di (東嶽大帝) aka Lord Emperor of Mt Tai Shan.

In Late Tang Dynasty (唐末年間), Bing Ling Gong was being given another Official Title by the Imperial Court known as Wei Xiong Da Jiang Jun (General Wei Xiong 威雄大將軍).

While in Song Dynasty (宋朝年間), he was being given the title of Bing Ling Gong (the current commonly used Title 炳靈公).

Due to his uprightness and willingness in promoting and protecting of the Taoist Culture & Practices, he was being given the task to look after the Three Main Taoist Mountains – which are Long Hu Shan (龍虎山), Ge Zao Shan (閤皂山) & Mao Shan (茅山).

Today, in almost all the Three Mountains, you are able to see or find a Temple or Altar that is dedicated to Bing Ling Gong.

In the Taoist Scripture that dedicated to Dong Yue Da Di, Bing Ling Gong and other family members of Dong Yue Da Di are being mentioned.
