In the previous posting, we talk about how these 3 items are being selected and used, here, I will like to elaborate more on the usage of these 3 items for one self cultivation (balancing of one physical body) and doing salvaging of the souls.

Lets starts with the Salvation of Souls (超度).

For those who always participate in the Celebrations of Seventh Month (農曆七月普度) will know that, in the packages that the devotees sponsored/paid for, will definitely have a pack of salt, a pack of sugar & a bag of raw-rice.

These 3 items cannot be forgotten or neglected.

In Folks Culture, these 3 items being included are known as San Bao (The Three Treasures 三寶) or San Liang (The Three Daily Consumption Items 三糧).

Why must these 3 items be included?

According to Old Ritual Records, these 3 items that being offered to the Souls or Spirits will assist them to lessen their debts, sins & burdens.

So how the 3 items will help to lessen the debts, sins & burdens?

Upon getting (some said extracting) the Positive Energies from these 3 items.

But I thought that these 3 items are mend for warding off Negative Forces or Entities?

Yes, while these 3 items are being mix-together, it will enhance to the Max-level, but if they are being offered individually and without any shooting out, these items are just normal energy-enhancing items for any beings.

So can one self consume the offered 3 items?

Of cos can, just that, some people will find that the taste of these 3 items are being blended after the offering (up to individual, not everyone will feel that way).

So can we just offer these 3 items during the Seventh Month?

Yes, its possible.

In some other Chinese Religions, the Spiritual People will only offered these 3 items to the Souls or Spirits while they performed the Salvation Rituals/Ceremonies.

After the Rituals/Ceremonies, the Leading Spiritual Master will enhance a Spiritual Symbol onto these 3 items and then, sprinkle them around, this is to mark the end of the Ritual/Ceremony and also, for the Souls or Spirits to get the Energies that being released out from these 3 items.

How about offering these 3 items to our Ancestors?

This has to depend on individual. For some people, this might show dis-respect or un-filial to the Ancestors, but for some, they find it more suitable and relevant.

How about the self cultivation part?

Due to the Positive Energies that these 3 items got from the Three Realms, these 3 items will somehow assist one self to maintain a balance of Energies in the physical body aka energy, soul & mind (in Chinese known as Jing 精, Qi 氣 & Shen 神).

Once one self is low of energy or unable to stay in a calm mood, one self can consume a suitable amount of rice (enhancing of energy), shower with natural sea salt (producing of energy) and then have a cup of sweet drink (giving of energy).

After having all these items, one self shall relax and do not perform any form of Cultivation or Meditation immediately.

Once the whole body starts to relax, mind starts to calm down and one self soul is able to withstand the external stress & forces, then one self can starts in any form of Cultivation or Meditation.

This may sounds very easy, but for the start, it might take a very long time to achieve in the balancing. Do not give up, be persistence, one day you will see the result.

For those who dont consume such items, what can they do?

In some contexts, while a person is doing Cultivation or Meditation, one self can prepare a bowl of sugar, a bowl of rice & a bowl of salt, place at the 3 corners or in front of one self. While one self hits a certain level of Cultivation or Meditation, the Positive Energies from these 3 items will be release and being enhanced into one self body, mind & soul.

Some of them may want to mix the 3 items up, this can be done so.

  4. No no no, this will affect the energies inside your physical body.

For a person who is well and healthy, the energies inside one's body are already balance, once you add in an enhance form of energy, it might not get well but instead, work the other way.

This is why i always advise you all not to drink any water that being enhanced for certain ritual/ceremony...
