Upon request, here I will do a quick review on these Spiritual Object: Salt (鹽), Rice (米) & Sugar (糖).

A lot of Taoist Spiritual Places, Temples or Homes have ever used these 3 items on certain issues before but very less people actually know about the fact behind the usage of these 3 items.

In order to allow the others to have a better understanding on these 3 items, here the quick introduction on them.

They are Natural Enhanced Spiritual Objects

1 Sugar Cane (竹蔗), a type of energy-giving plant that grown on low-land (低坡) or high-area (坡區). Upon harvesting and processing, Sugar Cane will produce a type of consumable item known as Sugar (經收成及提煉而成糖).

Due to the Natural Chemical or Mineral (自然礦物質) that Sugar Cane produced and the influences by Chinese Religions, the product of Sugar Cane became very Spiritual or so-called Holy.

By the area the Sugar Cane grow, usually the product that Sugar Cane produced is closely associated with Heavenly Realm (屬天性) and so, Sugar is known as the Heavenly Natural Spiritual Object (又稱天界神物).

2 Rice Wheat (稻), a type of energy-enhancing plant that grown on low-land (低窪區) or muddy soil (水土區). Upon harvesting and processing Rice Wheat will produce a type of consumable item known as Rice Grains (經收成而成米).

Rice, thru the tedious process of planting and the absorbing of Natural Lights from Sun & Moon (吸收日月之精華) and with the influences in Religions, Rice is always known as a very Spiritual or Holy item.

By the area of the Rice Wheat are being grown, Rice is closely associated with Earthly Realm (for All Living Beings 屬地性) and so, Rice is commonly known as the Earthly Natural Spiritual Object (又稱地界神物).

3 Salt (自然海鹽), a type of energy-producing natural mineral (天然礦物) that extracted from the Sea (取之與大海). Upon collecting & dehydration process (經提煉及曝晒), Salt is produced (成食鹽).

Due to the area the Salt is being collected, Salt is always closely being associated with Waterly Realm (屬水性) and so, Salt is known as the Waterly Natural Spiritual Object (又稱水界神物).

Why are these 3 items being used?

Due to their Natural Behaviour or so-called Element, these 3 Items are already being enhanced with the Natural Energy or Spiritual Power.

By mixing the 3 Items together, one self is mixing the 3 Positive Forces from the Three Realms (聚三界之陽氣). Once these 3 Forces are being combined together, the output from the mixed-3-items can so-called as Incredible.

In Folks Culture, usually only Salt & Rice are being used, but in-order to reach the Max-level of Enhancing, Sugar shall be added.

In Folks Culture, once the Salt & Rice are being mixed and being disperse out, the Folks believed that the Salt & Rice will turn into Spiritual "Bullets" (五雷子) that can eliminate any form of Negative Force or Entities.

So how does one self use them?

In order to have a better energy, one self shall get a new pack for each item, do not use the old one or the existing remaining one.

On the Day of using, mix the 3 items together, for Spiritual People or Master, a Cleansing Symbol will be enhanced into the mixed-3-items (can go without that too).

After mixing (or enhancing), the mixed-3-items will be used to do cleansing around the Home (灑淨) or opening of Path for Deities to pass-by (開道).

  2. Hmm, try not to, cos once you release the salt, rice & sugar, any innocent beings that pass-by might get hurt too.

If you find that the place is not positive, try to avoid.

  7. Shifu, during Offering to Wandering Spirits on 7th lunar month, we should sprinkle these 3 things around right? If we have sprinkled them one by one, then they will still be mixed on the ground and so these mixed offerings will 'throw out' the wanderings from the area right? and can we sprinkle some enchanced water? will this help or harm the wanderings? and should we use normal salt for consumption or sea salt for aquariums? Thanks. ^^

  8. Once you sprinkle out individually, it wont harm the Spirits, so do not worried. As for the Water, unless you engaged Priests to do the enhancement, if not, no point sprinkle them out.

  10. Hi chong,

Rice is a natural food item that give out positive energy.

Whereas Salt will provide the function to eliminate negative energies and last, dried tea leaves will assist in abosorbing excess or remaining negative energies.
