Pictures of Xin Xing of 36 Heavenly Generals (三十六天將之辛興元帥)

Xin Yuan Shuai (辛元帥) aka General Xin or Marshal Xin, real name known as Xin Xing (辛興) or Xin Zhen Yu (辛震宇), hometown in China Yong Zhou Area (中國雍州).

According to the Deities Records of the Three Religions (三教源流搜神大全), Xin Xing was born near a Mountain named as Spiritual Thunder Mountain (神雷山). After he grew up, Xin Xing used to work around the Mountain.

One year, while there was a big storm, a strong Thunder Roar occurred and Xin Xing’s weak mother was being fright to death of the strong Thunder Roar, from then, Xin Xing got very upset and disappointed, whenever he went work around the Mountain, he would make complaints to the Heaven on the Thunder Roar that caused his mother’s death.

Upon hearing the complaints made by Xin Xing and knew that he was a filial son, the Thunder Deity (雷神) that roar the Thunder turned himself into a Priest and came into the Mortal World to express his apologize and sympathy.

After expressing his apology, the Thunder Deity went back to the Heaven to make a report to Jade Emperor (玉皇大帝) on the incident.

Knowing that Xin Xing was a filial and upright person, Jade Emperor made an order to summon Xin Xing into the Celestial Palace. After meeting up with Xin Xing, Jade Emperor made him one of the Thunder Deities that in-charge of Thunder Roar.

From then, Xin Xing was being official appointed as General Xin of the Thunderial Department (雷部).

Every year, till today, on the 15th Day of Lunar 6 Month (農曆六月十五日), folks will dedicate this day to be the Birthday of General Xin. This is to show the respect from the folks to General Xin of his filial piety and upright actions.
