Pictures of Gu Gong San Wang aka 3 Dukes of Gu Gong (南宋古公三王爺)





Gu Gong San Wang (古公三王), the Three Generals of Late Song Dynasty (南宋三將士), hometown in Zhang Pu Hu Xi Village (漳浦湖西鄉).

During the battle with the Yuan invaders, Gu Gong San Wang (consist of General Liu Xin (柳信), General Ye Cheng (葉誠) and General Huang Yong (黃勇)) led a group of Armies to rescue the 2 young Emperors, but to their disappointment, their mission failed.

Due to the death of the Song Emperors, Song Armies were defeated by the Yuan and soon, the Three Generals died in the battle.

After their death and due to their Loyalty, the Three Generals were being honoured as Deities.

  1. Shi Fu......this three 南宋 Generals...any connections with the "Wen Zhou San Hou Wang"..........since they are from the same dynasty??>...

  3. From records, they shall be the last army troops to arrive at the sea borders, much later than Wen Zhou San Hou Wang, and so, might be have any direct association.

    But, they are collegues in the Imperial Courts.

  5. Shi Fu, went to Hougang and saw a big celebration on "Song Chau Fu Wang".....actually who are they? Look's like they got Liu, Chang, Chi, all Wang Ye....actaully what is Wang ye role and responsibilities??? Looks like Song Dynasty got a lot of them become Gods.......

  6. Yup, every year, they will have celebrations for the Wang Ye.

    According to their records, the 3 main one are Song Wang Ye - Song Jiang, Chao Wang Ye - Chao Gai and Lu Wang Ye - Lu Jun Yi.

    These 3 characters are extracted from the Classic of Water Margin - Shui Hu Zhuan, the 108 Heros.

    Quite rare to see all of them in Spore.

    Last nite, was there to observe on the banners, I think in total, they got at least 11 Wang Ye.

  7. No, this is another set of Dukes from the same period as Sam Tiong Ong.

    During that Era, at least more than Ten sets of such Dukes appeared, but in Singapore, folks only honour Sam Tiong Ong.
