Old Talisman of Duke Xue (薛府千歲大符)

This is a Talisman used by Temples that are dedicated to Due Xue aka Xue Fu Qian Sui (薛府千歲)

Xue Fu refers to the Xue Warriors in Tang Dynasty (唐朝薛家將), whom assisted the Tang Emperor to ascend the Throne after Sui Dynasty.

Xue Fu Qian Sui refers to Xue Ren Gui (薛仁貴), which was the first person in Xue Warrior to get the bestowed title from Emperor Li Shi Ming (唐太宗李世民).

Follow by Xue Ding Shan (薛丁山), the son of Xue Ren Gui, which was being bestowed with the title of Er Lu Yuan Shuai (大唐二路元帥) - assist Xue Ren Gui in fighting against the invaders.

Last, Xue Gang (薛剛), the 3rd son of Xue Ding Shan & Fan Li Hua (薛丁山與樊梨花三子). Due to his braveness and loyalty, after his death, the Xue Family honoured him as the Key Person in the 3rd Generation. In folks, he was being addressed as Xue Fu Da Yuan Shuai (又稱薛府大元帥).

  6. The reputated one is only at Telok Blangah Guang Fu Gong, which is the oldest Temple that dedicated the main altar to General Xue Gang.

The next one, I'm sure you know, its Tang Chao Fu located at Hong Lim Complex.

  9. Yup, from what I know, in the whole Singapore, the only temple that dedicated the main altar to Xue Gang is only Guang Fu Gong, and this temple has been there operating before WW2. Where my grandparent used to visit in the past.

Till today, to find a temple that dedicated to Xue Gang is not easy, in Taiwan, most of the Temples are dedicated to his grandfather - Xue Ren Gui and father Xue Ding Shan and not Xue Gang... reason, cos of his background...
