Lightning Goddess aka Lightning Deity (電母), one of the important Deities that are under the supervision of Lord Thunder Pu Hua Tian Zun (九天應元雷聲普化天尊) for rain-pouring and scheduling of storm (行雲佈雨), etc.
In some contexts, Lightning Deity is known as the wife of the Thunder Deity, with the surname Xiu or other as Zhu (姓秀或朱), and people will address her as Xiu Tian Jun or Zhu Tian Jun (稱諱秀天君或朱天君).
So what are the tasks for her (電母職責)?
Her primary task is to release Lightning before Thunder Deity release his Thunder, in-order to minimize the risk of creating any un-necessary disasters. As for her secondary task, she is to assist Thunder Deity to eliminate all evil and un-filial people and make sure all of them get the deserved punishments.

Hahahahaha.. cos in a myth, Xiu Tian Jun was killed by Thunder Deity due to his mistake (cos the area was too dark, Thunder Deity cant see what Xiu Tian Jun threw away, Thunder Deity thou that Xiu Tian Jun was a person who didnt know how to treasure food, so immediately, Thunder Deity release a Thunder killing her on the spot).
ReplyDeleteAfter Xiu Tian Jun's soul being summoned, all Courts couldnt take her in and so, they had to send her to Jade Emperor for Judgement. After Jade Emperor understood the whole issue, Jade Emperor bestowed her with the title Lightning Deity, whenever before Thunder Deity release his Thunder, Lightning Deity would have to release her lightning 1st (to shine on the land) before any Thunder reached the ground.
