Pictures of Assistants of Swords and Seals (持劍捧印兩將軍)

General/Assistant of Sword and Official Seal aka Yin Jian Jiang Jun (印劍將軍) in Chinese or Chi Jian Jiang Jun (持劍將軍) and Peng Yin Jiang Jun (捧印將軍).

This pair of Generals will usually be seen with Deities that with Official ranking such as Duke, Lord or Emperor (王/候/帝).

The tasks for such Generals are to assist the Main Deities in running errands or to hold-on-to the bestowed objects such as Official Seals (御印), Swords (寶劍) or Imperial Edict (聖旨).

Besides the General form statues that we usually see, at some places, the people will dedicated the statues in Children form (童身), even though they look different, but their tasks are the same.

  9. Hahahahaha.. not really, eventhough they are called Jiang Jun aka General, their duties are to hold tight on to the Spiritual or Official objects and protect the main Deities.

Other assistants such as Marshals or Zhong Jun wil do the fighting upon getting the orders.

  10. Shi Fu Jave....thanks. My family is trying to have a complete team of statues for Zheng Zong Hou Wang....that is the reason for my asking about the role of the assistants. Will be good if you do have any records of his Zhong Jun....thinking of "buying or craving" new statues so that we could complete the Zheng Zong team.....hahahahaha!

  11. Hahahahaha.. Zhong Jun is just a form of General, but usually this type of General wil stay with the main Deity or so-called the Boss of his, may it be at home or at the place of working.

Usually Zhong Jun's job is to protect the Boss and also to convey message whenever necessary.

In the past, only high rank Officer or Marshal is able to own Zhong Jun, normal Officer or General wont have that authority to do so.
