Huo Guan Da Di aka Lord Emperor of Fire (火官大帝), in some contexts, being known as Huo Di (火帝) or Huo Shen (火神).
He's the Lord who is being appointed as the Overall-in-charge for all the Deities that are associated with the Element of Fire or the movements that involved Fire, etc.
Usually under his control, you can find Huo De Xing Jun (火德星君), Huo Yao Xing Jun (火耀星君), Huo Shen Zhu Rong (火神祝融), etc.
The mantra in the Banner is usually recited during Rituals/Ceremonies together with the San Guan Da Di Mantra.

ReplyDeleteand their Qi starting from Tian Guan is from 9,7,5 and then San Qi for Huo Guan. Their Pin (starting from Tian Guan) is from 1,2,3, then Si Pin for Huo Guan. But I think San Guan Has Tian Di Shui Realms to look after, does Huo Guan have fire realm? I think he doesn't hehe. And regarding Tian Guan Is Ci Fu, Di Guan is She Zhui, and finally Shui Guan is Jie E... what is for Huo Guan?

ReplyDeleteOf cos there's no Fire Realm in this world, but without the element of Fire, all things wont grow neither any living being will stay alive, and so, Taoists have to respect him and set him a form.
Ci Fu, She Zhui, Jie E and of cos last, Du Sheng - meaning, rescuing the living or assisting the living to live... understand? :P
So is he related too to Tai Yang Xing Jun and Hua Guang Da Di?
ReplyDeleteHuo Guan Da Di somehow related with Tai Yang, but not Hua Guang. Cos in myth, Hua Guang is jus the spirit of Fire, doesnt matter to have any relationship with Huo Guan Da Di.
ReplyDeleteAh I see. But if Hua Guang is spirit of fire then if ever they meet Huo Guan is definitely higher than him. And Uh, regarding Shui De Xing Jun, if Huo De Xing Jun is under Huo Guan then it may be safe to say that Shui De Xing Jun is under Shui Guan Da Di?
ReplyDeleteIn what cases are Huo Guan Da Di being called upon? Master Zhang widely preached to pay respect to San Guan Da Di, haven't he mentioned Huo Guan Da Di. And The San Guan has Feast Days on the 15th of 1st,7th, and 10th Lunar Month respectively (Shang, Zhong, and Xia Yuan) what is the feast day of Huo Guan Da Di?

Hahahahaha.. of cos Shui De Xing Jun is being so-called control by Shui Guan Da Di in the Deity System. Just that in normal day life, we dont usually called upon for blessing cos they have their own tasks and areas to look into.
ReplyDeleteUsually folks will celebrate the feast day on 23 Day of 6 Month or the Thanks-ceremony on the last day of the Lunar Year.
This will have to depend on the Priests and the way they are being trained, a not so good group of Priests will tend to cut short alot of things due to timing and the engagement price.
ReplyDeleteFor a Traditional Taoist Priest Group, in one day Ritual/Ceremony, they can recite up to not less than 30 Mantras and a few chapters of Scriptures (targeted to all the Three Realms).
Usually when such Ritual/Ceremony is being carried, there shall not be any resting time for the Priest Group, cos once the Ritual/Ceremony starts, no sudden cease is allowed, usually a few Priests will need to take turn to do all Invitation, Chanting, Reporting, Sending and Requesting Blessing, etc etc.
