Lei Sheng Pu Hua Tian Zun (雷聲普化天尊) or Lei Zu (雷祖), another very important Deity in Taoism.
In some Taoist Contexts shown, Pu Hua Tian Zun is the 1st Thunder Roar that occur during the Creation of Universe (宇宙第一雷).
In Taoism, there is a scripture named as "Yu Shu Bao Jing (玉樞寶經)", which is dedicated to Pu Hua Tian Zun.
In the scripture, it says, whenever a mortal recite his title on any request of salvation, he will appear.
And so, if you are sincere to getting his salvation, do recite his title whenever his image appear infront of you.
"九天應元雷聲普化天尊" -> Jiu Tian Ying Yuan Lei Sheng Pu Hua Tian Zun.

ReplyDeleteMost of us know thunder as Lei Kong. I think the birthday is 6/24d. When is Pu Hua celebrated and at which temple in Singapore (or elsewhere) can we find him and see a celebration for his birthday? Besides the one at Paya Lebar that is.

ReplyDeleteTo be more accurate, shall be the opposite, Lu Shi Yuan shall be the one who serve Pu Hua Tian Zun. Cos Lu Shi Yuan is just a Priest or a Taoist Master who practice the Taoist Skills under the Teaching of Pu Hua Tian Zun.

ReplyDeleteI been there before, cos this Temple is under the Heng Hwa Culture, so very different from the Normal Taoism. And recent years, they go under the Umbrella of the Three-in-One Religions, so certain issues are already out of the Control of Taoism.

ReplyDeleteI remember last year, they do have some Retreats, most of the Male followers will have to lock and stay inside the Temple for at least 7 days to do cultivation.
last year was the female retreat. this year there are having the males retreat. quite interesting i would say.

ReplyDeleteI would like to relate my personal experience with you.
I have been seraching around for a personal deity that I can confidently and comffortably relate myself to.
This deity would most likely be a deity that I can call to and plead, when I need celestial help.
At times, when you are at work or some other tricky situations when you have no ends to turn to, you will remember the tips you read in Jave's forum.
I was personally introduced to Lord Pu Hua by Jave Shifu.
Jave Shifu has graciously share with me that Lord Pu ua is one important deity that I can relate to.
I put that to practice.
Whenever I was caught in a fix, I would imagine Lord Pu Hua's image in my mind (Lord Pu Hua shining in a golden light, just in front of me).
I would recite " Jiu Tian Ying Yuan Lei Sheng Pu Hua Tian Zun" softly in my heart.
I remember Teacher Jave sharing that if we do call out his Official Title , Lord Pu Hua would send blessings to us.
Some may find it coincidental. But for me, I know its more than just a sheer of luck.
Maybe Teacher Jave can continue to share with us more ways to honour this high ranking deity.
